The scholarships are categorized into three specific areas: the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS), the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS), and the Top 10 UTME Scholarship, designed to cater to a diverse group of talented students.

Initiated in 2010, the MTN Scholarships Program aims to recognize and reward high-performing students from Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, including Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education.

Scholarship Categories:

1. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS): Launched in 2012, it targets eligible blind students at the 200 and 300 levels across all courses. Starting in 2024, the number of beneficiaries will increase from 60 to 100, with continuous financial support until graduation if academic standards are met.
2. Top 10 UTME Scholarship: Since 2020, the top 10 UTME scorers automatically qualify for this scholarship, which now also provides N300,000 annually from freshman year to graduation, regardless of the field of study or institution type.

Eligibility:

• MTN STS: Open to 300-level students in science and technology-related courses.
• MTN SBS: Available to 200 and 300-level blind students in any course.

STEM students in Universities and Colleges must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5, while those in Polytechnics need a CGPA of 3.0 from the OND program. Blind students in Universities or Colleges should have a CGPA of 2.5, and those in Polytechnics a CGPA of 2.0.
