The American Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ACIR) will hold its 2026 Interdisciplinary Conference on November 12, 2026, under the theme:
Knowledge Without Borders: Bridging Disciplines for the Public Good.
The conference is virtual via Zoom, free to attend and open to participants from anywhere in the world, with the University of Indianapolis, USA, serving as the host venue.
I am sharing this opportunity personally because I serve with ACIR as Chief Knowledge & Partnerships Officer, where I support the organisation’s institutional partnerships and collaborative networks.

Why this conference is worth considering
Many of the issues we are researching today no longer belong to one discipline alone.
Artificial intelligence connects technology with ethics, education, information science, communication and health. Climate change brings science into conversation with policy, communities and human behaviour. Digital transformation affects librarians, educators, businesses, governments, researchers and many other professions.
ACIR 2026 creates a space for these different conversations to meet.
You may be a social scientist, librarian, theologian, educator, health professional, engineer, communication researcher, data scientist, entrepreneur, artist or practitioner. There is room for your perspective.
Two ways to participate
The conference has two submission tracks:
Research Paper Track — for scholars, researchers and graduate students presenting original research, theoretical arguments or analytical work.
Innovation and Practice Track — for innovators, entrepreneurs, practitioners, product developers and others presenting an idea, tool, method, model, product or initiative.
Submissions will go through a blind peer-review process before acceptance.
You can also attend without presenting. Come to listen, ask questions, meet people outside your immediate discipline and perhaps discover a new collaborator or direction for your work.
My invitation to scholars
I particularly encourage emerging scholars and multidisciplinary researchers to look at this opportunity.
Sometimes our work does not fit comfortably into one academic box. That should not always be seen as a problem. It may actually be the strength of the research.
If your work connects two or more fields, addresses a public problem, introduces an innovation, or simply deserves a wider audience, ACIR 2026 may be a good place to share it.
