Eligibility and Requirements

Candidates interested in the Rhodes Scholarship must meet specific eligibility criteria:

1. Nationality/Citizenship: Applicants must either not be eligible to apply through any existing Rhodes constituency or have a strong connection to one or more constituencies without meeting their eligibility criteria, in which case they may consider inter-jurisdictional consideration or a Global Scholarship.
2. Age: Applicants must be:
   • Aged 18-24 by October 1, 2024, for most candidates.
   • Aged 18-25 by October 1, 2024, for candidates in fields requiring professional internships like medical, dental, pharmaceutical, law, and engineering.
   • Under the age of 27 by October 1, 2024, and must have completed their first undergraduate degree on or after October 1, 2023, for older candidates.
3. Academic Achievement: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a First Class Honours or equivalent, given the highly competitive nature of admissions at Oxford.
4. English Language Proficiency: Applicants should have a high standard of English to meet the University of Oxford’s higher-level English language proficiency requirements unless English is their first language and they have primarily resided in a majority English-speaking country.
