Fellowship Benefits
Selected Fellows will receive:
- A one-off settling-in grant of USD 3,000 for those recruited from outside the duty station.
- A monthly stipend of USD 3,000 for the duration of the fellowship.
- An initial fellowship period of 6 months, with the possibility of a 6-month extension.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the United Nations Fellowship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirement: Must be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Nationality: Must be a national of a member state of the Economic Commission for Africa.
- Educational Qualifications: Must have graduated before July 1, 2024, with a master’s degree, doctorate, or equivalent qualification.
- Thematic Interest: Should have an interest in one or more of the identified thematic areas.
- Project Work: Selected candidates will work on predefined projects within the mentoring Division, Sub-Regional Office, or ECA Centres.
- Meeting Participation: For professional exposure, you must participate in national, regional, or international meetings.
- Research Presentation: Required to submit and present a peer-reviewed research paper at the end of the assignment.
- Alumni Engagement: Will join an alumni association of ECA Fellows and become a member of the international development “community of practice.”
